'L&HHNY' Mendeecees Harris Drug Sentencing Delayed Until October

Almost since the moment that fans of Love & Hip Hop New York were introduced to Mendeecees Harris he has been fighting serious charges. Harris has been linked to Yandy Smith for many years and shortly after she gave birth to their son he was arrested for drug trafficking in upstate New York. While Harris originally denied his guilt, Smith fought hard to get him released on bail, a task that took more than a year. Eventually, Harris admitted to his guilt and has been awaiting his sentencing, originally scheduled for Aug. 31. It an unexpected twist the reality star's sentencing date has been bumped up.

According to a report by Bossip, the judge in Harris' case had to change his schedule, a move that has pushed his sentencing date now back to Oct. 2. Harris was originally accused of helping to run a drug ring that trafficked cocaine and heroin between NYC and upstate NY for several years. He eventually agreed to take a plea deal that still carries with it some pretty stiff penalties. As of now Harris can be facing up to 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine. 

Smith has stayed by her man's side throughout his legal battle. In fact the duo is so solid that they married last May, just a few months after welcoming a daughter to their family. Smith has vowed to stand by Harris and to wait for him to return home to their family, which could be a minimum of five years. Obviously they are going to make the most out of the next few weeks that Harris now has, but do you really think Smith will really wait for him to rejoin their family after prison?

While TLC may have canceled 19 Kids & Counting due to family secrets coming to light, the network has been doing damage control for months with no real end in sight. Last fall we learned that Honey Boo Boo's mother had rekindled a romance with a child molester and mere months after that rocked TLC executives were left to navigate through the rough waters of Josh Duggar confessing to have molested his sisters. The devastation didn't end with that either because in the last week or so Duggar admitted to having an active Ashley Madison account. The bottom line is that the Duggar's are not the squeaky clean Christians that their image insinuated and TLC looks pretty bad for not researching its "stars".

Tonight a documentary on sexual abuse is scheduled to air opposite MTV's VMA's and the network is hoping that it will help to balance out some of their damaging programming that has aired. Fox News contacted me this past week to weigh in on the topic and you can read the full article here. Do you think that this admittedly important documentary will bring the network some good press and serve as a stepping stone towards returning to educational programming?

 Ironically, TLC- originally called The Learning Channel, began as exactly that, a stop on the dial where you were sure to learn something. Unfortunately in recent years  they jumped onto the reality television bandwagon and it has really cost them in the long run.

A whole generation of 80's kids were raised on a multitude of Jackson classics. My 7th grade gym class included Thriller playing on loop in the background while we all struggled with whatever the sport of the week was. Brian Williams 'Misremembering' is Limiting MSNBC's Katrina Anniversary Coverage

If you have watched any news coverage over the last few days then surely you realize that his weekend marks the ten year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Back in 2005 the monster storm wrecked havoc on New Orleans and left the ninth ward only slightly intact. Most news coverage has sent anchors back to the once-devastated area to see how things have been rebuilt and sadly, in many cases, how they have not. When NBC opened a full investigation of Brian Williams reporting they quickly realized that he had a bad habit of "misremembering" many prominent stories and embellishing to make himself part of the drama. This included his coverage of Katrina and MSNBC's programming is now affected by that.

The network has struggled with ratings and credibility issues over the last few years and while some sweeping changes have been made in recent months, they are also stuck with Williams. Rather than NBC firing their fallen evening news anchor they instead have shuffled him over to MSNBC, which quite frankly, won't help their credibility issues.

According to a report by Page Six, "MSNBC is sensitive about Brian Williams and his reporting on Katrina. None of their anchors are there this weekend. Brian’s mid-September start date was carefully scheduled to avoid the Katrina anniversary, among other considerations.” Williams had spoken of seeing a dead body float past his hotel, the Ritz-Carlton in the French Quarter. He said that gangs had “overrun” the place and claimed that he got dysentery and the hotel had no medicine. But then-manager Myra ­DeGersdorff said the Ritz-Carlton was secure, there had been a medical unit on-site, and told the Washington Post, “Maybe he misremembered . . . It wasn’t impossible he could have encountered a body, but I don’t think it was in the French Quarter."

Supposedly the network is already ticked that they are stuck with Williams. Having to not report on such a significant story in American history has to be making the already bad blood even worse, don't you think?

Will TLC's Sex Abuse Documentary Change Their Scandalous Image?

This Sunday night TLC is hoping that by airing a documentary on sexual abuse they'll be able to counteract all of the recent negative press. The network freely admits that this documentary is a direct reaction to Josh Duggar's admission last May that he molested four of his younger sisters over a decade ago. As horrific as that admission was, the hits have just kept coming for this family that was once placed on a pedestal for their supposedly wholesome lifestyle.

In the last few weeks we have learned that Duggar also had an Ashley Madison account and had paid porn stars for sex. He is currently in a religious rehab while his wife is left to wrangle their 4 small kids while dealing with the shame that her husband has brought to the family.

While TLC's documentary is likely to benefit someone, somewhere it doesn't change the fact that the people in their casting department have failed to do their job in digging into the background of the people that they choose to feature, right?

Nick Gordon Paid for Staged Photos at Bobbi Kristina's Grave

Bobbi Kristina Brown's former boyfriend, Nick Gordon, was banned from her funeral but recently made the journey to New Jersey to visit her grave. What many would have believed to be an extremely personal, private moment was actually bought and paid for by a tabloid. As it turns out, dollar signs might have been the main motivator in getting Gordon to visit Brown's final resting place.

According to a report by Page Six, "Grieving Nick Gordon — who was banned from girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown’s funeral by her dad, Bobby Brown, and is facing a wrongful-death suit in her catastrophic passing — was paid $40,000 for photos and video of his so-called “secret pilgrimage” to her grave."

Apparently, the National Enquirer paid for the sad photo shoot and the pics are featured in their latest edition on newsstands now. Gordon needs the cash because not only has he been cut off from Brown's fortune, but her estate has also filed a $10 million dollar wrongful death civil suit against him. It has been alleged that Gordon plied Brown with a lethal cocktail of drugs and then placed her face down in the bathtub where she was eventually found.

Gordon's team helped to broker the photo deal because it ensured that they would be paid something. In the meantime, the DA's office is still mulling over evidence and deciding whether or not to criminally charge Gordon in connection with Brown's death. Josh Duggar Enters Religious-Based Rehab as Cheating Scandal Continues

Nearly a week after the news broke that Josh Duggar was a paying customer of Ashley Madison's infidelity services, the hits keep coming. A porn star by the name of Danica Dillion has reportedly passed a lie detector test that seems to prove that Duggar paid her for sex twice earlier this year, while his wife was pregnant with their fourth child. Not long after Dillion's story started circulating the Duggar family issued a statement on their official site claiming that their son has checked himself into a long term addiction treatment facility.

The Duggar family issued an official statement today saying, “We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear. Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God—He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.”

Probably the biggest question of all is whether or not Anna Duggar will choose to remain married. So far she has yet to issue any kind of statement at all about her husband's infidelity  and the situation has to be a real slap in the face to the young mom of four, including a newborn. Dillion has alleged that she expects more women to come forward and make accusations against Duggar. Do you think it will happn?

Katy Perry Working on 'Crocodile Tears' New Diss Track Aimed at Taylor Swift

There's no end in sight to the bad blood between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Hot on the heels of Swifty's "Bad Blood" single I'm now hearing that Perry is currently working on a diss track of her own, tentatively called "Crocodile Tears". Needless to say this song is likely to be pretty condescending but the real surprise may come from Swifty herself. Apparently she welcomes the rivalry and is happy that Perry is willing to continue it!

According to a report by Hollywood Life, Swift believes that the fans will continue to take her side no matter how Perry responds. The source says that because Taylor drew first blood by releasing her song about their ongoing feud first, fans will see her as the woman who was hurt the most by the other’s actions and side with her. “Another theory she has is that because she got her song about their public feud out first, people will side with her as the person most scorned. She’s super-relaxed about it, and welcomes the rivalry. Katy doesn’t scare her one bit.”

A good girl fight always seems to draw a big crowd and rivalries do have a way of keeping people front and center. Do you think that Swift and Perry really hate each other this much or do they really enjoy the extra press that it brings them both? If they were alone together would it be a knock down fight or do you think that behind closed doors these two ladies are laughing all the way to the bank?

Selena Gomez Finally Speaks About Justin Bieber Romance

Are Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber still seeing each other on the DL? That seems to be a forever ongoing question, one that Gomez has completely avoided until now. In a brand new interview the former Disney star is finally speaking out about those years that she spent with Biebs and she also paints a pretty clear picture of her romantic life right now.

Gomez told  the U.K.'s Sunday Times, "It’s difficult for people to separate us. The internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it. “I didn’t think I was doing anything bad by falling in love. There’s such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it’s good press. Also throw in the fact that you are a teenager — it makes it more difficult. The next relationship will be something dear to me. There is no way I will ever hide my life. I’ve been working my butt off. I’m dating, but I don’t really want anything right now.”

It has to be nearly impossible to try and maintain a healthy relationship, especially for a couple of teenagers, under the intense scrutiny of the press and public. It probably would have been a lot more surprising if the young couple actually found a way to make it last for real. There have been rumors recently about them reconnecting and hooking up again. Do you think that there's any truth to any of that at all? Might Bieber be one of the guys that Gomez occasionally dates? Or do you think that she has finally found a way to slam the door shut for good?

Will One Direction's Hiatus be Permanent?

This might be the worst week ever for One Direction fans. Sources close to the mega-popular boy band are saying that the guys are gearing up to take an extended hiatus beginning in March. After releasing five albums together the guys are ready to go their separate ways to work on various solo projects.

According to a report by People, "The group, which is now made up of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, has mutually agreed to take at least a year long break from the band to pursue their own projects, a source confirms to PEOPLE. This break also means there will not be a tour for their fifth album, which is expected to be released later this year."

The obvious question here is whether or not the hiatus will end up being permanent. Even if they anticipate making 1D a thing of the past there is no way that their management would make that kind of announcement. They need the fans to follow them into their solo careers, not be furious with them for pulling the plug on the beloved boy band.

Do you guys remember XYZ?  Their self titled debut was released in 1989 and had the glam rock ballad "What Keeps Me Loving You" on it. The song did pretty decent on the charts. XYZ was produced by Don Dokken and I think you can really feel his influence, at least on this song. No clue what happened to these guys though, they disappeared by the early 90's.

Anna Duggar Likely to Take the Blame for Husband Josh Duggar's Cheating

Once the scandal first broke online it didn't take Josh Duggar long to admit that he had indeed cheated on his wife of seven years, Anna Duggar, while using an Ashley Madison account. The 27-year-old has spent the last few years peddling family values and pretending to be a Christian role model while poor Anna has delivered four babies in rapid succession. She has remained silent since her husband admitted to living a fairly active double life and insiders are now saying that regardless of what Duggar has done, divorce simply won't be an option.

According to a new report by People, "Anna Duggar will likely not be leaving her husband Josh despite his admitted infidelity, a source with ties to the family tells PEOPLE. “Anna will not leave him,” says the source. “As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever, she and Josh are probably praying around the clock right now, I would assume.”  The source says that from their knowledge of the Duggar family, Josh and Anna, “no way is she leaving him” – and says it would not come as a surprise if “on some level” Anna tries to “absorb some of the blame.”

“Maybe not publicly, ever, but privately, there will be some suggestion of whether or not she should have been more aware of the pressures Josh was under, of the issues he was facing, and how she could have better counseled him or helped him,” says the source. “She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and her children. And she’ll have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work,” continues the source. “Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.”

Last spring Duggar admitted to molesting four of his younger sisters well over a decade ago and at the time his wife spoke out professing her support for him. As horrific as that situation was, Duggar hadn't done anything directly to Anna to cause her pain. This situation is entirely different and it's hard to imagine that she is being so forgiving of the hurt and public scrutiny that his cheating has brought to them.

Josh Duggar Reportedly Was an Ashley Madison Client

It seems to be the week of fallen supposed role models, doesn't it? First we learned that former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle had struck a plea deal for kiddie porn charges and now we're hearing even more uncomfortable news about Josh Duggar. Not that he was exactly warm and fuzzy anyway. Duggar recently admitted to initiating sexual contact with five minors over a decade ago and the fallout ultimately lead to TLC pulling the plug on The Duggar's reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. Now the 27-year-old married father of four's name has been listed on the client list for popular cheating website, Ashley Madison.

According to an exclusive report by Gawker, "Someone using a credit card belonging to a Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Ark. owned by his grandmother Mary — a home that was consistently shown on their now-canceled TV show, and in which Anna Duggar gave birth to her first child — paid a total of $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 until May of 2015. In July 2013, he seems to have started a second account that was linked to his home in Oxon Hill, Md., where he spent his time lobbying against causes like same-sex marriage."

I have to wonder what Duggar's long suffering wife Anna Duggar is thinking about this latest round of allegations. She stuck by him when he admitted to molesting four of his sisters over a decade ago. 'RHONJ' Teresa Giudice's Beach House Sold for $100 at Auction

This is the second time in just a few days that Teresa and Joe Giudice are grabbing headlines. Over the weekend the police were called on him because of a fight that occurred with a neighbor after Joe locked his daughter, Gia Guidice out of the family beach house. Now we're hearing that the house in Toms River was just sold back to the bank for a minimum bid of $100.

The Jersey Shore home had been on the auction block but there were no other bids on it probably because the bank wanted most of what the Giudice's owe on the home- nearly $350,000. No one was going to bid that much, especially since the property itself is worth significantly less. It's expected now that Joe and his four daughter's will have about 30 days to completely vacate the property for good.

In the meantime, Teresa is still behind bars sitting pretty in a Connecticut jail for various fraud charges. She is expected to be released in December and shortly thereafter Joe will begin serving nearly four years for defrauding numerous former business associates. Various rumors surround the couple as Joe is frequently caught in the company of other women while his wife is imprisoned. Do you think that she will support him once she is freed? Or is divorce on Teresa's mind?

Former Subway Spokesman Jared Fogle Strikes Plea Deal for Admitted Sex with Minors

It looks like former Subway spokesman, Jared Fogle is in a lot more trouble than we initially thought. The former role model was just charged with "traveling to engage in elicit sexual conduct with minors". Prosecutors allege that from 2010-2013 Fogle traveled from Indiana to NYC to pay to have sex with minors.

According to a report by TMZ, "The complaint says in text messages with one of the 14 minor victims, Fogle said he would accept a 16-year-old girl while stating that "the younger the girl, the better." The complaint says he asked some of the victims to send him pictures of themselves. 
The complaint says the child porn authorities found photos and videos of boys and girls. It's unclear the gender of those with whom he had sex. Part of the case involves images Fogle received from Russell Taylor, the head of Fogle's foundation. According to the complaint, Taylor sent Fogle photos and videos from hidden cameras in Taylor's house, featuring children as young as approximately 6. 
Under the plea deal, Fogle agreed to serve at least 5 years in prison and must pay restitution of $1.4 million -- $100,000 per victim.  And he must register as a sex offender."

Fogle has reportedly accepted a plea deal that will keep him behind bars for a minimum of five years. He also has to pay $100,000 to each of his alleged victims and the grand total comes to $1.4 million! I'm hearing that Fogle turned himself into the FBI this morning. 'Friends' Deleted Scene from 9/11 Surfaces

It seems like there are an awful lot of us out here missing Friends. I say that because just about any day of the week you can catch episodes in syndication, plus Netflix has the entire series for play of demand. One of the deleted scenes from the show first surfaced online 8 years ago but it has taken until this week for it to go viral. Apparently it was edited out shortly after 9/11 because watching Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) make a bomb threat comment in an airport was no longer funny. You can check out the deleted scene above. Anything new from this beloved show is like finding gold, right?

There's a reason why Ben Affleck's former nanny, Christine Ouzounian is popping up all over the place- she reportedly wants to extend her 15 minutes of fame. The woman that now finds herself smack in the middle of Affleck's relationship with soon-to-be-ex Jennifer Garner, is angling for a career in reality television.

Ouzounian herself reportedly tipped off the press to the fact that she and Affleck had gotten extremely close and while he is no longer in contact with her, the fallen nanny seems to be loving the attention that she has been getting. There have also been rumors that her stay at a posh Beverly Hills hotel and that new Lexus that Ouzounian has been tooling around town in have been paid for by Affleck through his assistant as a way to try and keep her quiet.

While the former nanny isn't saying very much at all publicly, she has been spotted out often in full hair and make up looking very ready to be photographed. She is now hoping that she can extend the fame from this scandal to a reality career in one of those 60 minutes shows like The Bachelor or Dancing With the Stars.  I guess she needs to think ahead, especially since her days as a well-paid Hollywood nanny are now a done deal. Sharon Stone Throws Shade at 'Law & Order: SVU' in New Interview

Sharon Stone is revealing herself in a big way in the new September issue of Harper's Bazaar and I'm not just talking about the series of nude photos that accompany her exclusive interview either. The iconic Hollywood actress gets real about her rise and fall in Tinseltown and how she had to humble herself to reclaim her position as an A-list contender. Part of that included a stint on NBC's Law & Order: SVU back in 2010 that the actress might rather forget.

In speaking with Harper's, Stone got real and explained the struggle of working in television and how it ended up feeling like a seriously humbling experience.

“That was humiliating. Having worked with the finest people in the industry, I was like, ‘Wow, I’m really at the back of the line here. I’m wearing L’eggs panty hose, and in makeup they start out by putting this white primer on my face.’ I’m like, ‘This is so bad. What did I do to deserve this?’ [Then] I thought, ‘You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I’m going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that’s going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up. That’s just the way it is, so I’d better get humble and shut the f–k up and do the job. Because if I can’t do this job, I’m certainly not going to be able to do anything else.’ ”

That's an interesting take on working for one of Dick Wolf's legendary shows. Usually we hear of actors and actresses being grateful to snag a guest stint on any of the shows that have been a part of the Law & Order trifecta. 'Straight Outta Compton' Celebrating a $57.4 Million Opening!

No other film out this weekend seems to have the kind of pull that Straight Outta Compton has had so it's not at all surprising to learn that when all is said and done its opening weekend U.S. haul will likely be close to $60 million. If you came of age in the 90's or were young enough to be intrigued by all of the East Coast Vs. West Coast rap animosity then this film is going to be worth a look. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube were both huge players of that era and they have invested years in making sure that this film is on point and telling a realistic story of how things really were.

According to Deadline, "Straight Outta Compton is touching a cultural nerve, and to say it crossed over is an understatement. Opening weekend for Compton is now looking like it will be north of $59M. I’m told in regards to producing Compton, Ice Cube and Scott Bernstein spent 250 hours in the editing room with Gray. They were also on the set everyday along with Dre. Ice Cube has been involved in the film for 13 years and has been on the road promoting the film with Bernstein. Ice Cube has also appeared on a number of TV outlets promoting the film." explains an insider.

The buzz for this is so strong that Academy screenings are expected to begin soon so that Straight Outta Compton has a shot at being in Oscar contention. Have you checked it out yet for yourself? What are your thoughts if so?

The fact that Madonna turns 57 years old today is probably going to make a lot of us kids of the 80's feel old, right? Just how long has she been dominating he charts and been a major player on the touring circuit? Well, on this week way back in 1986 her song "Papa Don't Preach" was at the top of Billboard's Hot 100.  Chances are if you were a teen in the 80's then you remember the video well and also the controversy that surrounded it. Back then discussing teen pregnancy in such an open forum was not really done and the starlet's own personal issues with Catholicism were often discussed. Madonna kind of forced people to start acknowledging issues that until then were more likely to be swept under the rug. It made her hated by parents while being a spokesperson for an up-and-coming generation.

Brian Williams Off Suspension, Heading to MSNBC in September

Brian Williams six month suspension without pay from NBC quietly ended last week. Back in February the popular news man was removed from the NBC Nightly News anchor spot because he was caught and later admitted to embellishing a story about being shot down in a plane in Iraq.  The network imposed a six month suspension and when they did some digging NBC turned up several other instances where Williams was caught being dishonest. His lies eventually cost him the coveted top seat at the network but Williams somehow still does have a job waiting for him over at the always-struggling MSNBC.

Rather than firing him outright, NBC news honcho Andy Lack instead decided to create a position for Williams at the sister-network. Beginning in September he will be in charge of breaking news segments for MSNBC. While Williams should be thanking his lucky stars that he has a job, rumor has it that MSNBC is none to happy to be stuck with him. The network's ratings are dismal and they are struggling with credibility issues as a whole so bringing in Williams, with his reputation in shambles hardly seems the best move.

Still, Lack is hoping that Williams presence will somehow not only steady the ratings, but also prompt people to tune in to watch his exclusive coverage of important breaking events. Do you think that Williams still has that kind of power? Or will his credibility always be called into question after his past chronic lying on camera?

Jimmy Fallon Inks Six Year Deal for 'The Tonight Show'

Are you a fan of Jimmy Fallon? Do you love the job that he does hosting The Tonight Show on NBC? If so then you're going to be thrilled to hear that the network has locked the comedian in, for a long time. Just a few short months after celebrating his one-year anniversary with the show we're hearing that Fallon has inked a new deal that will keep him hosting The Tonight Show for another 6 years.

According to a new report by Page Six, Fallon has signed a contract that will ensure that he stays with NBC through 2021. While some are a bit surprised that Fallon would agree to such a long term contract he has made it very clear that he is having the time of his life playing with his guests on The Tonight Show.

Fallon has singlehandedly changed the approach to late night by making it fun for the guests and hilarious for the audience tuning in at home. Have you become a fan of of Fallon's late night antics? Are you glad to hear that he will be staying put for quite awhile?

The video  raised eyebrows because it turned the tables on the industry at that time and sexualized men instead of women. Ironically, this song was originally offered to Rod Stewart and when he passed then Newton John snatched it up and in doing so put herself in the record books.

Details Finally Leaking Out About Jennifer Aniston's Wedding to Justin Theroux

Nearly one week after marrying Justin Theroux, details on Jennifer Aniston's low key wedding in her Bel Air home are starting to make the rounds. What do we know so far? Well, Aniston reportedly wore a creme colored strapless dress that was long and flowing and her normal glam team was on deck for the big day. The guest list was actually very small with perhaps less than 70 people on hand to watch Aniston and Theroux swap vows.

Aniston may have lots of friends but former cast mates Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc were not on the short invite list this time around. Howard Stern offered a toast to the newlyweds and later dished on his radio show about how everyone was invited to join them on their honeymoon in Bora Bora. That wasn't the strangest detail though. Apparently Aniston's love of The Muppets lead to a wedding cake that looked like it was created by Jim Henson himself.

I have to hand it to Aniston because she proved that if a celeb really wants to keep something private then they really can find a way to do so. The one thing she has in common with Angelina Jolie (besides Brad Pitt) is the fact that both women managed to pull off their dream weddings without the paparazzi catching on until after the fact!

Even Ben Affleck's Friends Don't Believe 'Nannygate' Denials

Ben Affleck has been sitting in the hot seat for the last few weeks because of a rumored fling with Christine Ouzounian, the nanny that Jennifer Garner had hired to take care of their three kids. While Affleck has repeatedly insisted that nothing physical happened between the two of them every new nugget of information that leaks out seems to point to just the opposite. Now even the actor's closest friends are questioning whether or not he has been honest.

Affleck claims that the nanny was nothing more than a shoulder to cry on but she doesn't seem to be on the same page. In fact, Ouzounian has been overheard discussing her romance with Affleck on a few occasions and to hear her tell it, the two were far more than just friends. Supposedly Affleck ended things once photos of the two were made public and has kept a relatively low profile in the weeks that have followed. Ouzounian has done just the opposite and seems to be enjoying all of the extra attention.

The one person that the actor has been spotted with is Garner. Before nannygate became an issue there was some speculation that the couple could possibly be working on a reconciliation rather than divorce. Do you think that the current circumstances have helped to solidify in Garner's mind that her marriage to Affleck really is over? How about all of those denials? Way back in 1980 Daryl Hall and John Oates watched as "Kiss On My List" shot up the charts to number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 and stayed their for three weeks. This song also kicked off a string of hits that kept Hall and Oates near the top of the charts for the next five years. Their catalog of music is just amazing but this song is what really established them as more than a one-hit-wonder ("Rich Girl" topped Billboard's charts back in 1977).

Today we're going to throw it all the way back to 1982. I can't exactly tell you why I chose 38 Special's "Caught Up In You" for today's clip, but it's a great song, isn't it? It's also pretty timeless.

Is Miranda Lambert Okay After Split from Blake Shelton?

I don't think that too many people were surprised to learn that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert had decided to part ways but the fact that they were officially divorced the same day that the split was made public was a bit of a jolt. While Shelton has called this one of the most difficult events in his life, he seems to be acting like all is well. Lambert on the other hand, isn't even trying to hide her struggle.

Instead of pulling herself together and trying to create even an illusion that she's holding up okay, Lambert has been breaking down onstage during her live shows. Last Friday she performed in Minnesota and told the audience that she wished that she had been drinking all day and then said that she "deserved" to because she is newly divorced.

Ironically enough, it is Shelton's love of anything in a bottle that reportedly drove a wedge between the couple. Shelton has never really tried to hide the fact that he enjoys drinking and partying to excess and we're now hearing that he's not exactly the nicest guy when drunk. Lambert spent years partying hard with Shelton until deciding to get healthy about 18 months ago. Do you think that this split will send her spiraling out of control again too?

Are Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck Trying to Reconcile?

The break up of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck has kind of dominated the celebrity news headlines this summer but I wouldn't pull the plug on these two just yet. Even rumors and unofficial confirmation that Affleck had hooked up with their nanny hasn't been enough to make Garner take off her wedding ring. In fact, just yesterday these two were spotted shopping together in Atlanta and their wedding rings were both still on!

We know that Garner and Affleck have continued to live together supposedly for the sake of co-parenting their three kids but the kids aren't making them keep their rings on. They are likely doing that because in spite of it looking like the marriage is finished, something still must remain between them.

Almost from the minute that they announced their split the media has wondered out loud if there was a chance for real reconciliation between Garner and Affleck. You have to admit, at least as of now their actions seem to be leaning in that direction more than a clear cut divorce. Do you think that they will eventually patch things up?

Decades before Taylor Swift's make up and break up anthems were even a possibility, teen girls of the 80's had Pebbles to provide their soundtrack. Back in 1987 Pebbles was actually dating Antonio "LA" Reid (who eventually went on to become a power house in the music industry) who was still performing with Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds in the band, The Deele. Pebbles had a huge hit with "Girlfriend", which encouraged women to crawl out of those lousy relationships and The Deele provided backing vocals and also appeared in the video which had major play on MTV. "Girlfriend" reached number 5 on Billboard's Hot 100.

Gioia Bruno and Ann Curless of Exposé on Ocean 98 Radio

August started off with a bang because I was able to take part in an interview with 80's girl group Exposé  . Gioia Bruno, Ann Curless and Jeanette Jurado have been performing together for about 30 years now and if you haven't danced to "Point Of No Return" at least once in your life then you probably need to get out and live a little more. The ladies were part of the Freestyle Explosion tour rolling into Philly earlier this month and OCMD's Ocean 98 was lucky enough to spend some time with both Bruno and Curless. Jennifer Aniston's love life has been front page tabloid news since about 20 minutes after the ink on divorce from Brad Pitt became dry (nearly ten years ago) and finally, she is remarried. After years of will-they-or-won't-they Aniston married Justin Theroux on Wednesday night at her Bel Air mansion. Even her guests had no idea that they were going to a wedding. Instead they believed that they were celebrating Theroux's birthday and it wasn't until everyone had arrived that the couple spilled the beans about what the real occasion was.

Aniston has always been pretty tight-lipped about wedding plans and she and Theroux had so perfected keeping their romance private that breakup rumors seem to have surrounded them for the past two years. Now it's pretty obvious that after years of being under a microscope Aniston has really perfected the art of keeping the real details of her personal life away from the prying eyes of the press and public.

While details are minimal we know that the theme was relaxed and casual and that celebrity guests for the surprise wedding included Jennifer Meyer and her husband Tobey Maguire, Howard Stern, his wife Beth Ostrosky Stern, Samantha Ronson and photographer Terry Richardson, Friends costars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Lake Bell and Scott Campbell, and Jimmy Kimmel, among others.

Tom Cruise Hasn't Seen Daughter Suri in Nearly Two Years

It has been four years since Katie Holmes swiftly pulled the plug on her marriage to Tom Cruise and while the anticipated custody battle between the two never actually played out that doesn't mean that all is well. In fact, rather than trying to control Suri Cruise, the daughter that he shares with Holmes, it seems that the actor has taken a completely different approach. Sources close to Holmes say that her ex hasn't spent time with their daughter in nearly 600 days!

While Cruise's excuse for not seeing his daughter for months on end was his heavy filming schedule in London, once he returned to the states there was absolutely no reunion. Even while promoting his new Mission Impossible flick in NYC where his daughter lives, Cruise has reportedly made absolutely no attempt to see her.

So what is keeping Cruise from bonding with his daughter? It's likely the fact that Holmes refuses to raise her under the rules and guidelines of Scientology. Since she is likely considered to be an "oppressive" person simply for turning her back on the teachings that would make her someone that Cruise would likely be discouraged from associating with. Unfortunately, Suri seems to be caught in the middle of that. Do you think that she's better off without Cruise controlling every aspect of her life, even now?

Boom Daily 80's Throwback- Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey "Easy Lover"

It's hard o believe that it has been 30 years since Phil Collins first agreed to duet with Earth, Wind & Fire's Phillip Bailey on "Easy Lover", a song that topped Billboard's Hot 100 back in 1985. The video to the track showcased he friendship between the two and was in heavy rotation on MTV. Ironically, this song came out just a few months before Collins most successful album, No Jacket Required was released. Four singles off of that hit the top ten making this easily one of Collins best years in music history.

'Couples Therapy' Season Six Trailer Teases Major Drama

Season six of VH1's hit show Couples Therapy with Dr. Jenn Mann is set to premiere on October 7 and from the looks of the new super trailer it'll be high on drama. Not that we would ever expect anything different, right? 

Joining Mob Wives Big Ang and Neil Murphy on the newest season of  Couples Therapy are Creed’s front man Scott Stapp and Jaclyn Stapp, model/actress Carmen Carrera and Adrian Torres, model/TV personality Janice Dickinson and Robert “Rocky” Gerner, and hip-hop star Joe Budden and Kaylin Garcia.

Hospice Photo of Bobbi Kristina Brown Hits the Internet

Several weeks ago there was a rumor circulating that a family member had snapped a photo of Bobbi Kristina Brown as she lay dying in her hospice bed and that the photo was in fact being shopped to the media. The family was knee-deep in grief at the thought of losing Whitney Houston's only child and likely wasn't watching out for others with a money-making agenda. Unfortunately just a few days after Brown has been laid to rest that photo has surfaced.

Apparently the National Enquirer was the highest bidder because the last living photo of Brown is featured on the cover of their new issue that hits grocery store racks today.  The fact that Brown is pictured looking peaceful, surrounded by flowers and photos of her mother doesn't seem to lessen the feeling that this is an invasive photo that the general public likely didn't need to see.

Supposedly another photo of Brown was snapped last weekend during her viewing. Chances are that if that rumor is true then it will be on next week's cover of the same tabloid because both photos were very likely to have been taken by the same person.  Do you think that last photos like the one of Brown in her hospice bed should be fair game for the press?

Way back in 1985 there was one song that sat atop Billboard's Hot 100 for nearly the whole month of August. Nope, it wasn't by Madonna, Prince, Huey Lewis & the News or any of the other acts that were completely dominating music at the time. Instead, Tears for Fears found themselves sitting in the top spot with "Shout", a song that went a little deeper than many thought. At the time of its release both Tears for Fears vocalists were quick to offer up an explanation of what "Shout" was really about.

A lot of people think that 'Shout' is just another song about primal scream theory, continuing the themes of the first album. It is actually more concerned with political protest. It came out in 1984 when a lot of people were still worried about the aftermath of The Cold War and it was basically an encouragement to protest.

It concerns protest inasmuch as it encourages people not to do things without actually questioning them. People act without thinking because that's just the way things go in society. So it's a general song, about the way the public accepts any old grief which is thrown at them.

Boom Daily 80's Throwback- Pat Benatar "You Better Run"

Since MTV premiered 34 years ago this week (I can't believe it really has been that long and just how ancient that fact makes me) I think we need to flash back to an original bad ass, Pat Benatar. Her video for "You Better Run" was the second video ever played on MTV and it's actually pretty timeless. Back then viewers knew that Benatar was hot and that the song was pretty cool. What they didn't know was that they were looking at a rock icon in the making. Not only is she still touring and rocking the stage with her husband, Nick Geraldo, but at every single show she still references this video and how honored they are to be a part of MTV history.

After you flash back to 1981 take a look at Benatar and her man in action just a few months ago. She might sound even better now than she did all of those years ago!

Kelly Osbourne Stuns with Racial Slur While Guesting on 'The View'

Controversy seems to have a way of following Kelly Osbourne just about everywhere, doesn't it? Just six months after officially leaving E!'s Fashion Police after a verbal scuffle she now finds herself struggling to save face again. Osbourne sat in as a guest cohost on Tuesday's edition of ABC's The View and the topic at one point turned to Donald Trump and his tough views on immigration laws. At one point Osbourne wondered out loud who would clean Trump's toilets if every immigrant was kicked out of the U.S.

After an almost audible gasp and a few second pause the rest of the panel quickly tried to recover from Osbourne's comment and Raven Symone even jumped in to remind viewers that there are plenty of jobs for immigrants to hold. Unfortunately for Osbourne, the damage was already done and the backlash spread quickly. She took to her Facebook within a few hours to issue an apology saying,

"I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT. I whole-hearted fucked up today. I don’t want to bullshit anyone with lame excuses. Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words. I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own fucking toilets."

The question is whether or not a simple apology will be enough to help Osbourne recover. She is frequently booked on shows like The View, that require real conversation and in an environment where opinions are discussed freely. Do you think that her comments this time around will keep her from shows like this one at least for awhile?

Ben Affleck Broke Up with Christine Ouzounian Once Romance Became Public

It looked like Ben Affleck's split from Jennifer Garner was going to be pretty mess-free, at least for a few weeks. How many couples announce that they are ending their marriage and then immediately go on vacation together?  Not many and yet these two popped up in the Bahamas looking as well as could be expected at the time. For once it seemed like a high profile couple might actually really want to keep things as civil as possible for the sake of their kids but boy, the difference a few weeks can make. Now we know that Affleck's alleged fling with the nanny, Christine Ouzounian has made a real mess.

The nanny was reportedly fired by Garner after she found out about the dalliance but Affleck was spotted with Ouzounian weeks later at a Beverly Hills hotel. She has been accused of tipping off the press to a July 17 meet up and Affleck reportedly dumped her once photos of them surfaced online. Garner is, no doubt, beyond furious because up until this point, any side chicks have been hidden from the press.

While Ouzounian has been completely cut from Affleck's life, the scandal has been kept alive thanks to a friend or two of hers that has talked to the press. Do you think that this public embarrassment will affect the civility of Garner's split from Affleck? Or will they continue to try and dissolve things as privately as possible?

Def Leppard enjoyed an enormous amount of popularity back in the 80's, didn't they? Their 1987 release, Hysteria, broke all kinds of records and had seven singles do really well on the charts but it was an earlier album that first won the boys fans worldwide. Pyromania dropped way back in 1983 and songs like "Rock of Ages", "Photograph" and "Too Late for Love" made Def Leppard instantly popular on the rock scene. The 80's were known for so many different genres of music and a really big one was "synthpop". If you're scratching your head at that word then one of the best visuals that I can probably give you is the Pet Shop Boys "West End Girls". The song dropped in April of 1986 and found itself in heavy rotation on radio stations across the U.S. as well as on MTV. It made this group kind of a household name, at least for the next few years.

If you were a child of the 80's then I'm going to bet that Shannon's "Let The Music Play" really sticks in your head. It may have only hit #8 on Billboard's Hot 100 back in 1983 but it has a lasting place in musical history. At that time disco was a few years past the point of being dead and this song really helped to usher in a new era of pop/dance music. Shannon was leading the way for a new genre known as freestyle because she reminded music fans that it was okay to just dance and have fun.
