Daily Boom 80's Throwback: Wham!- 'The Edge of Heaven'

"It's too late to stop
Won't the heavens save me?
My daddy said the devil looks a lot like you
Take me to the edge of heaven
Tell me that my soul's forgiven
Hide you baby's eyes and we can...
Take me to the edge of heaven"

This morning MTV Classic reminded me of one of my very favorite songs by Wham! "The Edge of Heaven" was originally touted as the duo's farewell single and in many ways it may have really been one of their best. During the summer of 1986 when it was released, George Michael was already enjoying a super-successful solo career and he was totally ready to move on.

When asked about the obviously sexual lyrics Michael had said that he believed that he and Andrew Ridgeley had gotten away with them because at that point in time no one paid much attention to what they were saying anyway. "The Edge of Heaven" is one of the first black and white videos that I really remember and the guys looked like they had a blast making it, or at the very least they pulled off faking the fun vibe.

Daily Boom 80's Throwback: Michael Jackson - 'Thriller'

Image result for michael jackson thriller

"It's close to midnight
Something evil's lurking from the dark
Under the moonlight
You see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream
But terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze
As horror looks you right between your eyes
You're paralyzed
'Cause this is thriller
Thriller night
And no one’s gonna save you
From the beast about to strike
You know it’s thriller
Thriller night
You’re fighting for your life
Inside a killer thriller tonight, yeah
Ahahahahahahahaha
I'm gonna bring it tonight"

Currently Booming: George Michael’s 'Faith' Turns 30!

Revisiting this in honor of George Michael:

On this date way back in 1987 George Michael's Faith album was released. Since its release  Faith has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide and is listed as one of Rolling Stone's top 500 albums of all time. It was Michael's first venture since leaving Wham! and most of the tracks have a serious R&B slant. Right out of the gate Michael showed that he wasn't afraid of a little controversy and by the time that all was said and done, he appeared to enjoy stirring the pot and making listeners form opinions about some serious issues.

The first single, "I Want Your Sex" ensured that Faith would debut in the top spot on Billboard's charts and the second single, "Faith", helped to cement its dominance. Over the course of about 18 months six different singles hit hard on the charts, with their being something for just about everyone. Check out a few of the classic videos from Faith below. What one is your favorite?

Hospice Photo of Bobbi Kristina Brown Hits the Internet

Several weeks ago there was a rumor circulating that a family member had snapped a photo of Bobbi Kristina Brown as she lay dying in her hospice bed and that the photo was in fact being shopped to the media. The family was knee-deep in grief at the thought of losing Whitney Houston's only child and likely wasn't watching out for others with a money-making agenda. Unfortunately just a few days after Brown has been laid to rest that photo has surfaced.

Apparently the National Enquirer was the highest bidder because the last living photo of Brown is featured on the cover of their new issue that hits grocery store racks today.  The fact that Brown is pictured looking peaceful, surrounded by flowers and photos of her mother doesn't seem to lessen the feeling that this is an invasive photo that the general public likely didn't need to see.

Supposedly another photo of Brown was snapped last weekend during her viewing. Chances are that if that rumor is true then it will be on next week's cover of the same tabloid because both photos were very likely to have been taken by the same person.  Do you think that last photos like the one of Brown in her hospice bed should be fair game for the press?

Nick Gordon Reportedly on Suicide Watch After Bobbi Kristina's Death

Nick Gordon must be an absolute mess of emotions right now. While he is used to not having contact with longtime love, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the reality that she has died now makes an eventual reconciliation impossible. Gordon was there when Brown was found submerged in a bathtub last January and her family has banned him from having contact with her ever since. Both the Houston's and the Brown's seem to strongly believe that her accident was the result of abuse at Gordon's hands and we're hearing that he is now on a suicide watch.

According to a source for Hollywood Life, "Nick is on suicide watch. He is out of control with regret and sadness. He keeps saying that if only [Bobbi Kristina] had heard his voice, things would have been different. She may have lived.”  Several weeks after Brown's medical crisis began Gordon decided to go to rehab to clean up his act. He was released back in May and has been living with his mother in Florida while trying to stay clean.

This case has been in the hands of the DA's office almost from the start and in recent weeks we have heard that it was basically being treated like a murder investigation. While Gordon has insisted that he didn't lay a finger on Brown he also has hired Casey Anthony's power house legal team to guide him through whatever comes next.

While he is obviously grieving the loss of Brown, Gordon likely understands that his own freedom and future is now potentially at risk as well. Do you think that once an autopsy is complete a murder charge will likely be filed against Gordon? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Bobbi Kristina Brown Dead at Age 22

Sad news this evening as it has been confirmed that Bobbi Kristina Brown has finally died in a hospice care center near Atlanta. Her death at this point was expected, as family members decided to take her off of life support medication a month ago, but that doesn't make the situation any easier to swallow. Her family issued a statement confirming the news just a little while ago saying,

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

Brown was discovered full submerged in her bathtub on January 31 and never regained consciousness in spite of her family's best attempts at medical intervention. Over the last six months the Houston's and Brown's have often been divided over how to best care for her but in the last several weeks they appeared to be in total agreement that it was finally time to let Brown go.

While the physical suffering has finally ended it's likely just the beginning for Brown's family who will be looking for both justice and money. Brown's longtime boyfriend, Nick Gordon has been under investigation since January with the DA's office alluding to the fact that this would ultimately shift into a murder investigation. Apparently Gordon is expecting to get nailed with charges because last month he retained Casey Anthony's legal team to help steer him through whatever comes next.

Funeral arrangements for Brown haven't been announced yet and an autopsy is expected this week to help pin point the exact cause of her death.
